VealPong High School is located along Road 136 near Khum VealPong in Kampong Speu province. The school exists since 1990 and has 1,240 students in 24 class rooms and no computers in the last 33 years. This computer lab has been co-funded with De Heus.
VealPong High School is located along Road 136 near Khum VealPong in Kampong Speu province. The school was established in 1990 on 6.5 hectares with six buildings consisting of 24 class rooms.
The school has 59 teachers, of which 23 female, teaching 1,240 students from grade 7 – 12. The school did not have computers in the last 33 years.
This computer lab has been co-funded by De Heus and was opened on September 19th 2023 in the presence of commune chief, school principal, office of education, and representatives of De Heus.
The story in short
Mr. Phoeurn, the school principal, was excited to welcome the computer lab project in his school as his school never had any computer lab for his students. He told that “I am pleased to have the support for my school as IT is not only important for the students, but also for the teachers, as in this digital era, industry 4.0 requires everyone to use computer to work and learn.” He further mentioned that “Without the support from IFL project, my school would not be able to afford. I do hope that with the continuous support from the project team my school will be able to graduate the students and issue the certificates for the students. I would like to profoundly thank IFL for the kind support to my school and hope IFL will continue to help.”
